Press Save to create key blank

Prepare super key blank

Press Cutter is changed

Fix universal key blank on the left.
The key must be flat between the groove.

Tighten the screw.

Cut both side of the key blank

Use nail file to wear the angle.

Exit.

Best Programmer for reading Volvo flash 28f400

 Question:

Customer asks to add a new key to a Volvo v70 2001 with MC68376 + 28F400 inside.  He bought the car very cheap but there where a lot of parts missing and there is no key/s.
A locksmith made the key blade from the door barrel, but there is no chip on it.  Can you help me out on key programming procedure and tools?

I have these programmers:
Upa V1.3
EZP2010
K-Tag
Mini Zed Bull
FVDI 2020 (for volvo operations i only have Eeprom reading options on the software, but don’t know what they can do)

have other tools, but for ECU reading (Kess v2MPPS) and i’m pretty sure they wont work with this…

If I’m able to read the chip, is it easier to just do the IMMO OFF or program new key?

Solution:

Quite a big job on model from 2001-2007.

Remove CEM module. Desolder 28F400 microchip inside the CEM.
Put it in a programmer who can read these.
And then you need a key maker who can do these.
And sometimes you can get sync error as well. (But probably not). Needs to be solved with another software.

And also solder the 28F400 microchip back, to the CEM.
But CEM can not be read and written using Galletto, K-TAG, because they do not contain the necessary scripts.

Best to buy jtag, and the Volvo option.  It’s the easiest and clean way..

Jtag Smok BDM programmer can read these without chip desoldering.

Worked well. No need to remove it.

The programmer, plus licence for CEM Volvo (MC68376+28F400) read/write, 160Euro.
The programmer itself, does have some free eeprom function, and all payable option like micronas, renesas, etc work really well.

2) USB BDM NT

Cheap for sure. great stuff for 50usd

The programmer programs all VOLVO CEMs from 1998 to 2004. To read the Flash, just solder five wires: CLK, Frezze, DSI, DSO, RST. And connect the 12V power supply. To write the flash, a 47R resistor must be soldered.

Willem or wellon, both ok!

I read this chip with Willem and use only one option for all of these chips and never had any problem. Doesn’t matter if its TB or not.

i have s60,80 with all keys lost i use willem lpt programmer read 28f400 flash suceeful and use tm100 original, make key ok write flash back to cem

Hot air station, TL886 + Adapters for PSOP44, quickly and job done.

 

6. VVDI Prog

Just cut frame, if you want desolder
28F400 very sensitive hot air.

Cut the metal frame and could remove flash from CEM and read it with VVDI Prog.

 

Working experience:

Read it with VVDI-Prog by cutting the metal frame.

Open file with Tango. There was 3 keys programmed, so I program transponder on key 3 position and generate new file.
Then I open that file and program another transponder on 4 key position. New file saved.
Then I write last file to flash.
All ok. Transponder key 3 start car.

 

*Xhorse engineer confirmed vvdiprog can read 28F400 made by AMD manufacturer only.

 

 

7. GQ-4X

If you don’t mind desoldering the flash memory, the GQ-4X programmer will read and write 28F400.

The cab door open warning is a new user function for all trucks in the P, G, R and T series.
The UF1157 user function warns if any of the cab doors are open. This is because there is a potential safety risk to people inside and outside the vehicle if a cab door is open.

Systems affected by the new function are ICL3, COO8 and DCS1.
New parameter for gas vehicles

Autohex II BMW All Function Service Disabled Solution

 Problem:

I have received the autohex ii bmw full version, but i cannot get it work. Saying all function services disabled and cannot initialize connection with WVCI.

The error was caused by not getting the autohex ii activated.

Which Tool to Change Mileage for BMW X5 E53 LCM3?

 Question:

I have a BMW X5 E53 2006 (should be CAS3). Anyone has a pinout for this LCM3 and how to read using digiprog3 or other device that can read? any suggestions which tool can do the mileage correction of all BMW model 2006 below?

Requirements

  • BMW Scanner
  • Cluster made in 09/2001 or newer (edit: not 100% sure about this date cutoff after looking at some NCS Expert files. Might even be as late as 03.5)
  • Some common sense

After studying M and non-M EEPROM files, here’s what I found — there is a function deliberately designed to increase the speed by a certain ratio. In the non-M, the displayed speed is the real speed + 5.7%.

So here’s what you do.

  1. Start up the PASoft software and load your IKE. Read off the EEPROM.
  2. Now, in the built in hex editor, look for the following hex string (pick the appropriate one for your model). In my cluster, it was located at offset 0x339
    Code:
    M:     03 00 2D C8 00 31 D6
    Non-M:      03 00 23 C8 00 25 CC
  3. Change it to the following
    Code:
    All models: 03 00 01 C8 00 01 CA
  4. Save the file, and flash the EEPROM back to your cluster.

Done. If you have stock diameter tires, your speedometer should be almost 100% accurate

If you’re curious as to how the change works, the bytes I change are used as a ratio. 0x25 = 37; 0x23 = 35. 37/35 = 1.057, or a 5.7% error. I am not sure what the 0xC8 (200) value represents; I think it might be an upper limit to the allowed error (5.7% until the error reaches 20 km/h). That last byte is simply a checksum (XOR all the values together, and then XOR with 1)

If you have a 99-01 cluster, please send me your EEPROM. I can’t promise I’ll figure out how to do the change there, but I’ll try. Also, if there are any Japanese fanatics here, please send me a dump of your cluster. In the E39, the Japanese values for the cluster are 100% accurate; I suspect the same holds true for the E46. It would be interesting to see how BMW configured the cluster.

XprogM and BMW Scanner 1.40 pasoft will do the trick.

EWS by xprog-m k-line adapter,
DASH by xprog-m by back point in circuit,
KEYs take km from EWS,
LCM, EGS, DTC… by PA Soft (BMW Scanner 1.40).

 

FYI, if BMW X5 E53 2007 CAS and dash, you need r270 programmer, it will erase eeprom and write new data (dashboard done) the R270 will also do the Cas3 module it will supply wires and show you where to solder them and the software will help you complete the CAS part of this adjustment.
