Calculate Nissan Micra or Note PIN Code by Xtool or Xhorse

 I always have trouble with early Nissan’s. I’m trying to code in a Nissan Micra key 2010. I can pull the BCM code with xtool x100 pad2, and I’ve also pulled a 12 digit security code. But I can’t seem to convert them to the correct security code.

Nissan Micra and Nissan Note have 12-digit code, not 4 digits. From the plate in the glove compartment.  They are Renault-based cars, so their code looks like a Renault code.

There must be a plate with 12 symbols in the glove compartment of the car. They are used for calculation.

Xhorse (VVDI Key Tool Plus & Mini OBD Tool) has this feature and works great. You just have to open the glove compartment.

Disable W205 Start/Stop with DTS Monaco and Openport 2.0

 Brief instructions for coding Mercedes W205 and other cars in similar bodies using DTS Monaco.

Everything you do is at your own risk. There is a chance to damage the control unit and immobilizer.

Disable Start/Stop in W205 with DTS Monaco 

1. Turn on the ignition. Launching DTS Monaco

2. Select the SMR-D file from the list, depending on which module you want to connect to. in our case, MED40.

3. Remove the module from the control unit. In the Diagnostic service tab, we find the Security Access line, find the Request seed key line in the list, click on the Transmit button. We get the key, which we enter in SeedCalc.

4. Run SeedCalc. At the top, select MED40CNG_med40_sec_new_00_00_00.

5. In the “SEED” field, enter the values ​​obtained from the Request seed key at the previous stage. Click “Generate”. Copy the first 8 characters (all except 00 00 00 00).

6. Go to DTS Monaco. Select the line Send Key Variantcoding. On the right, in the “Send key” field (highlighted in green), paste the data received from SeedCalc.

6.1. Click on the Transmit button. If the code is correct, then below it will be “ acknowledged ”.

IMPORTANT! If, when sending a seed code, the Response State is marked in red and written not acknowledged, then you need to select another module option in SeedCalc and calculate the code again. The unlock code changes after each entry. Those. if the unlock code did not fit, then you need to select Request seed key again and insert new values ​​into SeedCalc.

7. If everything is successful at this stage, then go to the “Variant coding” tab. In the ECU selection menu, find MED40 and click “Connect”. Scroll down, find the desired line and change to “Last mode”. Then click on Do Coding! In this way, you can change the speed limiter and in general everything that is in the MED40.

8. After you have done the encoding, you need to return to the Diagnostic service, select Hard reset and click Transmit.

Now start / stop remembers the last position and does not turn on automatically when switching between sport-eco-comfort modes and does not turn on when starting the car. Those. the start-stop system is in the state it was in before the engine was turned off.

The same logic encodes all other units that support variant encoding.

Which Tool to Program Toyota Prius Gen3 Smart Key?

 For Toyota Prius G3 (Generation 3) hybrid vehicles, you have a few ways to add a smart key to your car. None can be done by chicken dance, you need a programming tool.

1) Buy a virginized (sometimes called “reset”) smartkey on Ebay simply register (add) it with Techstream or other high-end automotive scan tools. No seed code is required.

2) Reset your used smar tkey then do step #1. Most auto locksmiths can reset Toyota G3 fobs with Xhorse Key Tool Max or similar.

3) Reset the smart key ECU on the car using seed/passcode approach and Techstream. Then re-register all your fobs, even if they are not virginized. Just make sure you REGISTER your fobs within 10 presses of the cars START button after car is reset. If not, there’s a chance you’ll brick the car.
BTW, PIN-online.net PINS can also also be used to generate Techstream activation codes so you can activate the latest Techstream version on your laptop without buying a license from Toyota.

4) Just pay an auto locksmith to do it. We charge $75 to cut and program a customer supplied fob. We often use our Autel IM608 immobilizer tool and Xhorse Condor key cutting machine. These tools cost thousands of dollars so if an auto locksmith will do it for $75 it’s a fair price to have it done in 20-30 minutes. If you have a working Techstream setup then option 3 is probably the best route to take, but getting Techstream installed and working properly takes a newbie a few hours of research and futzing around.

Autel MK906BT Disable 2019 Cayenne S Auto “Start/Stop”

 My Autel MaxiCOM MK906BT diagnostic scanner arrived today. This kit is huge.  You will see my older iCarSoft set inside next to this.

I was able to easily disable the start/stop feature from my 2019 Porsche Cayenne S. Other Autel Maxisys tablets will do this as well. MK906 is cheaper.

Auto start stop Deactivation Procedure:

These are the steps.

1. Selected Porsche
2. Use Auto-Bin to automatically process VIN (Needs to have key in second position, with engine off)
3. Diagnosis
4. Auto-Scan
5. DME (Engine Electronics)
6. Coding
7. Coding without rules
8. Coding
9. Modify values below
10. Write values
11. Exit to home screen

After 8, and there was some waiting to do, I was presented with a table of fields.

There were two important fields that needed to change.

“Block 08 start stop last mode” “Default On”

I first set the fields “Block 08 start stop lastmode” to “Last Mode” and it gave me an error message saying to check on conditions when I tried to write it.

Then, I set the “Block07 start stop” to “Not available/coding..” and it was successful when I tried to write it down.

I used to have the “Start/Stop” icon on my main home screen to be able to manually disable it, but after the updates, it is not there anymore, and the “Start/Stop” feature is not active any more.

It worked for me, but you are on your own, since too many things can happen..

I really despise the auto “Start/Stop” feature, to the point that I will not buy another Porsche if that feature is not remembered, or disabled, after a restart.

I also coded windows/sunroof open and close with key fob, and disabled some of the annoying chimes with the autel mk906bt.

NOTE:

All for the autel diagnostic tablets, there are annual fee.  Only advanced functions such as ECU Coding/ Programming functions will be limited if not renewed because to code/ program a new ECU, that requires access to Autel online server, if the one doesn’t renew the software, he can’t access to Autel server data to process the coding or programming. The subscription fee is charged by Autel.  The MK906BT yearly subscription takes $460.

Autel MaxiSys Ultra vs Thinkcar S20 Which One is Better?

Unbiased reviews based on user working experience:

 

Review 1:

I’ve got both along with several others and they compliment each other very well. There is some overlap BUT the big thing with the autel maxisys ultra is you get the scope integrated into the vci and the VCI is a top of the line J2534 device that supports FD-CAN! It works 100% as well as the cardaq 3+. I have the cardaq now and have used them both and there is no difference!
ultra j2534 does anything any other j2534 device with fd-can will do.  Supports FD-CAN or mega can, whatever you want to call it.  Works perfect with Witech. I used it today. And have used it on as new as 2020 model dodge rams with ZERO issues.

 

Review 2:

There are benefits to both tools. With autel ultra, 909 or 919 you also get access to Remote Expert.  Remote Expert is a great opportunity for you to expand your offerings.

That scope being integrated into the vci is what got me chubby on the ultra such a bad ass feature!

I’m not super impressed with my Thinkcar s20. Still a good tool but I grab my Autel more often than anything else. I feel the Autel is much faster and easier to get information. The S20 seems slow and clunky. Even VIN decoding seems slow. I don’t hate the tool but it’s definitely not my first grab.

I just lost my 906ts and I need something good with a jbox. I was looking at the s20 for HD capabilities as well.

I actually prefer the launch X431 V+ $900 online and it’s been way more reliable than both the s20 and ultra combined and it’s functionality has been good for our use. I’ve had issues with both the ultra and s20.  I haven’t used the jbox on my s20 yet. But I have used the one autel one. It does the job.

the ultra is such a good deal because you get a really good scope, and the VCMI is a j2534 interface with fd-can/mega can. (Has 4 CAN channels) Besides the fact that it is damn near if not the best aftermarket scan tool on the market for all makes and models.

 

Review 7:

The Autel Ultra costs less, it has built in scope and wave generator, and seems to be a better brand. The S20 with the same capability (sensor box and scope box) costs thousands more and is under Thinkcar, Thinktool, and TopDon.

I like the layout of the S20, speed of the software, they have a lot of easy access stuff for common functions, oil reset, SAS, ABS bleed, etc. From a Ford standpoint, it has as much accessibility as IDS. I’ve programmed a few things with it (Ford SJB, newer ram ABS, etc) it’s handled everything I’ve thrown at it so far. Price point and cost of updates is way less than other manufacturers.

 

Review 8:

S20 lifetime updates is the way to go. It’s a great tool and as they continue to update it will be better. It is powerful and does have lots more key functions than ultra. But I’d go ultra and get a smart also.  I think ultra is a great tool. Kinda all in one package. Powerful scan tool. It has split screen so you can do bi directional controls while viewing data/ and have the scope hooked up to verify signals are right. Can flip back to service info also. I think a tool like this one can help make you very successful. Down fall is subscription is very expensive.
Review 9:
I love my s20. I have autel and Snap-on. I grab the s20 over my autel. S20 offers programming functions direct from the scan tool on Mercedes and BMW via vpn along with 10 other makes. I may use it even more if I get the prog for immobilser work. I know one thing that the ultra won’t do is immo/ keys strong on euro & domestic. This will fill in the holes that Autel has.

Thinkcar S20 has great coverage so far what I see and whatever issue you are having Thinkcar technician are super quick to respond. Both great tools. Went with S20. I still haven’t tapped its full potential.
Review 11:
Get Autel. Thinktool/thinkcar is a new brand Chinese tool and has a lot of rough edges. Autel has their stuff figured out. Autel is a great brand, but also manufactured in China.
Review 12:
It’s about needs both the ultra and thinkcar s20 are typically the same price. Currently the s20 is a better value with current 5 year subscription promo. The Ultra is $1115 retail for a subscription update so it costs a lot more than the s20. The tools themselves are similar the scopes are similar with the ultra having more as far as guided tests etc. I have both I perfer the ultra. It’s faster and has less coverage holes. But with s20 you get better immo/key coverage.

In a nutshell, both have benefits. It’s really what you value most. If it’s programming or having someone do it for you, Autel has that feature.

If need HD then S20 is the way. S20 comes with HD adapters for heavy duty. You can add the prog3 for immo /keys. 

If you need deep diagnostic/programming and remote expert functions,  ultra is a better choice. 

You can buy the s20 Thinkcar that has programming for about 10 makes like the ultra for BMW/Benz. You can add a prog 3 for keys as well and it’s LIFETIME SUBSCRIPTION. You’re Autel ultra j2534 Ccan do anything the cardaq can do it’s a mega can j2534 so that wouldn’t be worth buying a jbox. The s20 and Ultra together there probably won’t be much you can’t do.
