Mismatch between VCMII IDS Software Versions

 Hello. I am installing a Ford vcm2 and connecting it to IDS V121.01, I get this error “ Falta de concordancia entre las versiones de software VCMII IDS (Mismatch between VCMII IDS software versions)”, does anyone know how to solve it?

PS: both VCMII (SP177-C3 and SP177) share the same solution

Click “√” to upgrade VCM2 firmware.

Refer to this instruction, you first press the reset button, and then open the bosch vci manager to update the firmware.

  1. Take apart the fiber case.

  1. Use the USB cable to connect VCM2, hold the “Reset” button, don’t release.

  1. Connect the other end of USB cable to the computer with IDS V86 installed, until you hear a beep, release Reset button.

  1. Run Bosch\VCI Software(Ford-VCM-II)\VCI Manger(Ford-VCM-II)

  1. When the following page appears, it means it enter recovery mode.

  1. Click on “Recover” button and the program will switch to VCMII update page.

  1. Click on “Start Update” to start firmware update and you will see the following window message.

  1. Click on “OK” and it will start to write into the newest firmware.

  1. When VCMII firmware update successfully, it shows the following window message, and VCM IIdevice system will reboot automatically, when you hear one beep it means reboot completely, now you can exit VCM II Manager.

  1. Run IDS. when it shows the following window message, it means VCMII firmware update completely.

How to Update and Downgrade Ford VCM2 Firmware?

Confirmed: Ford VCM II (Item No. SP177) firmware upgrade and downgrade is possible.

Procedure:
  1. Remove the rubber case shown below.

  1. Connect the USB cable to the VCM2 device and hold the (ReSet) button shown as below.

  1. Connect the other end of the USB to a computer with IDS V86 installed, and then release the ReSet button until you hear a beep sound.

  1. Run Bosch\VCI Software(Ford-VCM-II)\VCI Manger(Ford-VCM-II).

  1. When you see the following image, it means you enter the recovery mode.

  1. After clicking on the “Recover” button, the program will switch to the VCMII Update interface.

  1. Click on “Start Update” to start the firmware update, and the following image will appear “Do not unplug the VCM II from the PC or remove power from the VCM II during the update process.”

  1. After clicking on “OK”, the following image will appear to start writing the new version of firmware.

  1. When the upgrade completed, the following prompt interface will appear, and the VCM II will automatically restart,wait until you hear the “beep”. Now exit VCM II Manager.

  1. Run the IDS. When the icon shown in the figure below appears, the VCM update is complete and it can be used normally.

How to install Ford VCM2 SP177-1 IDS V112 on Windows 7

Confirmed!!! Ford VCM2 (sp177-1) ids can be installed on Windows 7 native machine without neither VMware nor license activation.  Directly install software and run IDS in VCMXLoader (quick startup software).

Tested version: IDS V112 (newest version Ford IDS of SP177-1 goes to V113, Mazda IDS update to V113)

Operating system:
1.Windows7 32bit, C disk space is at least 35G.

Ford IDS V112 Software installation:
1.Ford and Mazda IDS software cannot be installed on the same computer at the same time
2.Install Ford IDS/ Mazda IDS software according to the default path installation (don’t change the installation path) ,Please Exit or uninstall anti-virus software before installing software.
3.When installing IDS software, install the initial version of the subsequent upgrade patch version. (e.g.110.01,then110.02,110.03……)
4.After successfully installation of IDS software, install VCMXLoader startup software and install it by default (check the Ford/Mazda IDS Programming Menu Patch option unless the computer system reports an error and the prompt point “Confirm” and “Yes” appears)
5.You can ONLY run/start IDS software from VCMXLoader (IDS software can not be started directly) when using IDS. Only by connecting devices can IDS software be started. When running the software, please select the appropriate model (Ford or Mazda)
6.Question about online functions when enter the account password interface : if when jump page (the ActiveX controller is not enabled or not installed, please be sure to enable all the ActiveX controller prompts) on this site is typically IE browser has a problem, suggest that install the latest version of Internet explorer and use IE browser setting as the default browser.

Ford VCM2 IDS Program 2017 Ford Escape New RCM Module

Background:
If your Ford has code 19 from the airbag light that came on, which indicated the RCM (Restraints Control Module) went off and has to be replaced.  A new RCM and sensors must be installed whether or not the airbags have deployed. The new RCM has to be programmed with the vin and whatever else they do or the airbag system wont work properly.

How-to:
Use as-built method of programming since the body shop had already installed the new module. You can install new RCM by yourself as well.  (Refer to the service manual)
Model tested: Ford Escape yr2017. 2.5L Gasoline Automatic
Device to use: VCM2 with Ford IDS software (here use V111.04)


Procedure:
Setup IDS software on laptop
Run IDS software
Establish communication
Turn ignition to ON position

Read and confirm vehicle information, incl. engine type odometer, VIN
Go to Self-Test->Module->RCM

Go to Module Programming->Programmable Module Installation->RCM

Read the passenger reset guide before operation
The seat must be empty during the rezero procedure to make sure proper function of the seat weight sensor.
Make sure nothing is under the seat and remove any items from the seat that were not factory installed.
Battery within normal operating voltage (10-16 Volts)
Unbuckle the passenger bunckle switch and verify no OCS sensors faults are present.

If Ford IDS gives error “The operation failed”, do following:
Go to Module->OCSM (Occupant Classification System Module)

Now go back to Body->Restraints->Passenger System Reset/OCS Reset

Upon completion, perform self-test and make sure all DTC related concerns have been resolved and cleared.

Sensor Initialization
Before performing this procedure, make sure the following
operation are completed.
Don’t shake or bounce the vehicle.
Ensure that you are not pressing the brake pedal.
Park the vehicle on level ground.
Do not depress the accelerator pedal during this test.
Bring the steering wheel to the straight ahead position.
Do not move steering wheel during the routine.
Turn on ignition switch

Select sensor you need to initialize.
Here we need to calibrate lateral and longitudinal acceleration sensor
