KT200 Read and Write Bosch EDC17CV41

Here is the guide to read BOSCH EDC17 CV41 [ 1797 ] - [Diesel] Challenger, Claas, Isuzu, Iveco, JCB, Man, Massey Fergusson, New Holland, Valtra ECU with KT200.

CV41 has 2 possible S1 S2 pinouts for GPT. Connect the multi-function cable as follows. For this ECU there are 2 different types of hardware versions, try the following 2 combinations in series. The ECU will not suffer any damage during connection tests.

KT200 Virtual Reading Working or Not?

 KT200/KTM200/ECUTuner Virtual reading is working?

 

Yes and No.

VR files are not possible from KT200 software/hardware.

VR files are supported. They provide own software (ECUHelp third party VR) for access to the files.  It’s not device database files.

There is no VR file retrieval by the hardware. Any ECU’s needing a VR file, you will have to find other sources to download.

 

Some users have managed to read some ECUs via “virtual reading”, i.e Scania EMS S8, VAG DCM6.1V, PCR 2.1, Simos 18.1 etc (see image attachment), this is not VR read and it is actually real read (reading real orginal file).

Here comes the KT200 factory explanation:

‘It’s NOT VR READ! The tool must connect to the internet to get authorization for use, then it reads actual ECU data, authorization can take up to 10 seconds at times, there are several videos claiming VR – all just doing the standard authorization procedure. 

It depends on the ecu there are ecu that are read in the vr obd and others that you do real reading.’

KT200 Read and Write BMW MSV90 in Boot Mode

 Today we are going to read and write BMW MSV90 ECU with KT200/KTM200 ecu programmer in boot mode.

 

First of all, open KT200 software, click on Manual

Then search MSV90 instruction wiring diagram

Now we need to connect the ECU with the KT200 follow the wiring diagram

click to select driver and tool boot

select the ecu module and click on ok

click connect and wait for the connection established

create a new folder on the desktop

now we are ready to start reading the data in the ecu

then click read all to select the save path and save it to the newly created folder on the desktop

please wait patiently until the data is read completely

save the ecu data read by kt 200 ecu programmer in the newly created folder

Then connect a new MSV90 DME follow the diagram

Select write in flash micro and write eeprom separately

Attention:

please select write in flash micro, EEPROM and write your modified ecu data separately.

and wait patiently for the writing to complete

Checksum is corrected. KT200 ecu programmer Write MSV90 ECU succeeded.

KT200 ECU Programmer Test Report

 What would you say this KTM200/KT200 ecu programmer over any other ecu tools?  Here the success and failure report from KT200 users.

Software version is V22.08.20. Works only with KT200 interface connected. If the hardware is not connected the software does not start. Win7 and Win 10 32bit and 64bit work great.
It’s one of the best clone around.

Same protocols as Dfox.  About VR, it doesn’t work without user intervention the user must get the file from somewhere else such as Ecuhelp (SW received together with ECUtuner) PCM Tuner, and so on.

MD1, MG1, DCM 6.2a, PCR 2.1 OBD unlock, EDC16, EDC17, ME9, BDM, Boot all tested working.
