DimSport The Genius programmer now also supports unlocking 2020.06- Bosch MD1/MG1 locked ECUs in boot mode (HVR Mode).
HVR Mode: a new unlocking option for Bosch MDG1
It has been developed to enable the unlocking of select Bosch MDG1 engine control units (ECUs) manufactured after 2021, which are equipped with a protected INFINEON AURIX TC298TP/TC299TP microcontroller.
To perform this procedure, you will need the new HVR (High Voltage Regulation) adapter cable, designed for direct connection to the ECU circuit board (OPEN MODE).
The connection is made at two specific points to ensure maximum precision and perfect synchronization during the unlocking process (a resistor must also be temporarily removed).

Once the unlock is complete, you can proceed with subsequent reading and programming operations in BENCH MODE using TheGenius on compatible diesel and gasoline applications.

Unlocking and Bench Programming a 2021 Peugeot 308 MD1CS003 with Dimsport TheGenius:
A 2021 Peugeot 308, equipped with a 1.5 Blue HDI engine producing 130 horsepower, arrived at with its check engine light illuminated. To address the issue, technicians removed the vehicle’s Bosch MD1CS003 engine control unit (ECU) to perform work on the bench.
1.ECU Preparation

2. Opening the ECU
Accessing the connection side.
Open the control unit on the connection side to access the circuit board.
3. HVR Preparation
Removing the resistor indicated by the arrows.
4. HVR Connection
Positioning the probes on the circuit board.
5. Reading in HVR Mode
Connecting to the microcontroller.
6. Reading Complete.
First stage complete.
For the HVR preparation phase, technicians removed a specific resistor on the board, as indicated by arrows in their reference materials. They then positioned probes onto the circuit board to establish the HVR connection. With the microcontroller successfully connected, they initiated a read in HVR mode. Once the HVR reading was complete, the first stage of the process was finished.

The next critical step was the HVR unlock.
8. Unlock Complete
Moving on to bench mode.
After the unlocking process concluded, the previously removed resistor was restored to its original position. The control unit was then closed and reconnected for bench programming.

Switching the Dimsport tool to bench mode, the technicians read the control unit to retrieve the original file. Following this, they wrote the modified file to the ECU. The tool confirmed that the programming and writing processes were successful, marking the technical work as complete.
The process concluded with a smooth handover. The customer returned to the Peugeot, ready to drive away with the vehicle serviced and the check engine light issue resolved.
This operation highlights the capabilities of Dimsport’s “Truck program,” which offers software solutions for engine control units and supports workshops in performing advanced diagnostics and programming.
