Question: It’s a 2014 Volkswagen Jetta (Simos 12.2) that needs to do Immo adaptation (ECM Swap). What tool to clone this ECU? Will OBDSTAR DC706 or FC200 do it? Or what the best way to clone this ecu without the Car.
Here is the clue.
You can’t full clone this ecu. It has OTP. There are OTP data in those.
You need to read it and use a calculator to sync data from original to donor.
Most tools are not capable to do it because of the OTP restrictions.
This ECU can be full read by either flex or autotuner. If you have none of those tools, then ODIS is your go to tool. DC706 and FC200 cannot clone it.
Need to read eeprom and flash and send to 3rd guy to extract them (transfer immo data) for you, or even better, do a full read (flash and eeprom) from original and donor ecu and send them to some one to do it for you, this is a real hard ecu to adapt. Same as simos10.10, simos 12.1 ecu, its the only way.
Make sure original and donor have the same software.
If the software is different, you will have powerclass mismatch and odis won’t program it.
